Finding a beauty salon in Sydney

A few years back, a girlfriend and I moved to Sydney, Australia. It was all a great deal of fun; the sights, smells, weather, nightlife, and people are amazing. But, as you may know, it was a complete nightmare for us to find a beauty salon in Sydney. Our first instinct was to find one that was local, our reasoning being that it would be more convenient to just pop into before a date or a job interview. That brought us to "The Art of Beauty Salon Sydney" on 537-551 George Street, Shop 5. When we got in there, it was a total nightmare! There were so many people running around, and so much noise, and even a high pressure saleswoman. It felt like complete pandemonium. We said to ourselves, this seems to be more 'New York chic' than something that's uniquely Australian.

Needless to say, we booked it out of there as soon as possible. It was so traumatic that we swore off beauty salons near our house, opting instead to find a smaller one; one that would be more comfortable and familiar for girls from a smaller town. That brought us to "Ayurve Beauty & Wellness Day Spa," a full service Sydney beauty salon at 99 York Street Sydney 2000, Level 7. Even though Ayurve was nearly as big as The Art of Beauty, there was a very gentle, relaxing, comfortable, and low-key atmosphere. Ayurve may cost a bit more ($95 for a one hour customized facial; $75 for a warm wax manicure; $95 for a one hour massage) than the standard beauty salon Sydney, but it's well worth it.

In fact, Ayurve was so accommodating that my girlfriend and I completely ended our search for a beauty salon in Sydney: we had found our new home! It wasn't a smaller beauty salon that we had been seeking, but simply a place where we could feel comfortable. Ayurve will make you feel like you're at home. The desk receptionists are extremely friendly, the assistants are willing to give you a warm smile, and the masseuses are totally hot (they have a real South American vibe). If you can, stop by Ayurve, one of the premier beauty salons in Sydney. You won't be disappointed.
